Hi, we are a family of 8 from the Netherlands and planning a trip to Florida. We want to go to Disneyworld on December 24 and 25. But is the park open on December 25, or is it closed or do we need extra tickets ?

Welkom bij planDisney, Marcel! Thank you for stopping by with your question!

Walt Disney World Resort is celebrating "Halfway to the Holidays" this week, and several merry announcements have been made to usher in the holiday season later this year, including the return of the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays! You can experience the magic of the holidays around the world at this joyous festival through December 30th of this year! Check out this Disney Parks Blog article highlighting other festivities to enjoy throughout the merriest time of the year.

I am delighted to share that Walt Disney World's theme parks are open year-round! You can enjoy the magic of the holiday season Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but keep in mind that it is also one of the busiest times of year to visit. No special theme park tickets (other than your regular tickets) are needed. I recommend "rope dropping" (arriving before the theme park opens) to have a higher chance of getting into the theme park of your choice on those two days. Disney's Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT are typically the busiest on those two days. If you plan on staying at a Disney Resort hotel, there are certain days Resort guests can qualify for Early Theme Park Entry too.

Marcel, I hope you found this information helpful! Thank you again for visiting planDisney. Please visit planDisney again if you have any other questions about planning your holiday visit!

    Magic Awaits!
