My family, 5,3,18 months, is making our first trip to DW in Oct!! We will arrive around 10am, by car, staying at BLT. Since we can't check in until 4, we decided to visit downtown Disney first. Are there any shows we can see after we eat lunch?

Hi, Windy!  Downtown Disney does occasionally have performances on the stage there, but even if you are there when there isn't a show scheduled, you'll find plenty to do.  My girls love to browse the shops and check out places like Once Upon a Toy or the World of Disney stores.  Even the littlest of my girls, who just turned seven, loved browsing the pins.

I also wanted to tell you that you can check in before four o'clock, and if your room happens to be ready, you can go directly to your room and then head off to do whatever you'd like.  If your room is not quite ready, they will send you a text message, but you can pick up park passes or hit the pool if you'd like.  I always keep a bathing suit for my kids in my carry on bag for just this type of situation!

Another thing you can do is take a ride or two on the monorail loop, and check out the monorail resorts.  that's a great way to get the kids excited for Disney World!

Have an awesome visit to Walt Disney World!
