My family will be in MK on December 20. Our flight arrives at noon, so we probably won't get to the park until around 3:00. We have dinner reservations at Ohana at 9:40. If we buy tickets for the VMCP, can we leave to go to dinner and return to the party?

    Hi, Shelley!

Yes, you can leave Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party to head over to dinner at 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Resort and then return to Magic Kingdom after dinner. Please keep in mind, though, that the Christmas Party ends at midnight, so you won't have much time to enjoy the Party after your 9:40 dinner. Actually, you'll only have a little more than 2 hours to spend at the Christmas Party before needing to leave and travel over to 'Ohana. Considering the cost of the Christmas Party tickets, you really won't be maximizing your value and getting the full Party experience.

I would recommend changing your 'Ohana dinner reservation to another evening during your visit, if possible. This way, you won't miss any of the special entertainment offered during the Christmas Party. For example, Holiday Wishes fireworks are scheduled at 9:30 and you will miss this show completely due to a 9:40 dinner reservation. Holiday Wishes is a "must-do" experience and features special perimeter fireworks which you won't want to miss.

I typically recommend that Guests wishing to attend Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party plan to have dinner before the event begins at 7:00 PM so they'll be able to enjoy all the special entertainment exclusive to the Party. Those five Party hours tend to fly by rather quickly and there's so much to see and do: holiday parade and fireworks, special character meet-and-greets, stage shows, character dance parties, cookies and hot cocoa, and magical snow on Main Street, USA!

I hope this helps! Please write back with any other questions as you continue to plan your visit.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
