We have 19 family members going for 8 days, ages ranging from 1 to 79 (four generations). What activities can ALL of us participate in? Thank you.

Hello, Cindy! Thank you for stopping by the Moms Panel with your excellent question about multi-generational family travel to Walt Disney World.

You will find that many attractions are appropriate for every member of the family, which is one of the many reasons that my family and I keep returning to the Walt Disney World Resort. The older members of your group - the really young ones, too - will especially enjoy the milder rides without a lot of bumps, dips and flashing lights. Some of my favorite rides and attractions for multi-generational family travel at Magic Kingdom Park are:
    • "it's a small world"
    • Dumbo the Flying Elephant
    • Jungle Cruise
    • Prince Charming Regal Carrousel
    • Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room
    • Country Bear Jamboree
    • The Hall of Presidents
Make a point of visiting the Disney Characters at their designated meet 'n' greet locations at each of the Parks. I always enjoy looking at the pictures of Grandpa being silly with Goofy! You can even get everyone in one picture in front of Cinderella Castle for a great photo souvenir.

The Walt Disney World Resort also offers many incredible dining options, so make the most of them by scheduling your meals during periods that you need to take a break from walking or want to regroup. At Epcot, your family can enjoy a leisurely walk around World Showcase, sampling foods from around the world and learning about the cultures represented.

You will probably walk a lot more than you typically do in your daily routine, so plan to spend some time enjoying the Parks at a slower pace with lots of breaks. Whether you travel with a small child, a spouse, or grandparents, keep in mind that patience is a part of Disney. You are sure to make many magical memories! If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to stop back by the Moms Panel, Cindy. Happy planning!
