Ahoy, Andrew! Thanks for sailing by planDisney with another great question. It sounds like you have a wonderful voyage ahead on the Disney Wonder in the New Year. How exciting!
One thing that makes Disney Cruise Line special is
Rotational Dining. Each evening,
Guests are assigned one of two dining times, 5:45 PM or 8:15 PM, and you’ll rotate between the three main restaurants: Animator’s Palate, Tiana’s Place, and Triton’s. If your group didn’t all receive the same dining time, the best first step is to link your stateroom reservations online through the website or through the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. Once linked, you can request the same early dining time by
calling Disney Cruise Line, or by joining the waitlist for your preferred seating through the website or app.
If your request doesn’t process before you sail, stop by the dining changes location once you board (the Disney Wonder usually handles these requests in the French Quarter Lounge on embarkation day). Speaking with the dining team manager early gives you the best chance of being placed together.
As for your fine dining reservation, there’s no assigned seating time because adults-exclusive dining is booked à la carte. When you make a
Palo reservation, you’re selecting an available time rather than being placed into a set seating like the main dining rooms. You should be able to see your reservation time in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app under View Reservations > My Plans. And if you’re dining at Palo for dinner, don’t miss the amaretto soufflé, because it’s absolutely divine!
Since we’re talking food, here’s an extra planDisney tip:
Room Service is available 24 hours a day and included in your cruise fare. My boys always enjoyed ordering Mickey Ice Cream bars to the room after dinner when they were younger. A few specialty items may carry an additional charge (such as alcohol and canned sodas), and while gratuities aren’t required, I always like to leave a little something to thank the hard-working crew.
I hope this helps, Andrew. If more questions pop up while you’re getting ready for your holiday, you know where to find us.
Sea ya real soon,
Eean
