Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney! Great job staying on top of the planning process for your family! Merging duplicate profiles will make planning easier for everyone in your travel group.
When you merge profiles, all vacation planning information will remain. This includes reservations, tickets, plans, MagicBands, Family & Friends List, and even the
Disney PhotoPass photos. Since you will no longer manage the profile for your family member, their account settings like log-in information, personal information, and payment method, will be managed by that person. I confirmed with a Cast Member that your payment method will not transfer over.
If your family member wants to enter their payment method, they can visit their profile in the My Disney Experience app under “Payment Method.” With their payment method linked to their account, they can pay when
mobile ordering food in the My Disney Experience app or even
merchandise mobile checkout at select shopping locations. I love having the option of using a saved payment method rather than pulling out my wallet!
