Our Family has Magic bands used from previous trips to Disney but currently not in our profiles. Re-linking account number on back of band return a not recognized message. Mobile app returns a message that band is already linked to another account.

    Hello Eileen,

Welcome to planDisney and thanks for your question! I like to save my MagicBands from previous trips and reuse them, too. Let's look at what may be preventing you from re-linking those numbers, and get your MagicBands ready for your next magical vacation!

If you are receiving a message that your MagicBand is already linked to another account, the first step may be trying to locate what account it's linked to. Have you made reservations in the past under a different email, or My Disney account? Or perhaps someone else made a reservation in your behalf? You are on the right track! If your MagicBands have been linked to different accounts which are no longer being used, you definitely want to re-link them to the guest accounts being used for your current reservation.

If you are able to locate where the previous MagicBands are connected, then you just need to "deactivate". This will allow you to then link it to a different account.

I recommend double-checking your list of current MagicBands in a couple of different locations:

    • Log on to the website with your My Disney account, on the MagicBands & Cards page scroll down to "Manage MagicBands or Cards". You'll see all guest accounts you manage, where you can collapse the list to view all past MagicBands. I sometimes find it easier to locate past bands on this page.

    • In the My Disney Experience app, click the "☰" icon in the lower right, then scroll down to the Account section and select "MagicBands & Cards".  Note in this display, bands are found on different tabs: MagicBand+, MagicBand, Admission Card. Perhaps your older bands are listed on that second MagicBand tab?

If you are still unable to locate your older bands listed anywhere in My Disney Experience in order to "Deactivate" them, you can call MagicBand Support and a Cast Member will be happy to help.

Alternatively, you could stop by the Front Desk of your Disney Resort when you arrive, and they can assist with getting your MagicBands properly linked to your current account. They can also help you re-set your PIN for charging those Mickey ice cream bars in the parks!

I hope this helps, and that you have a practically perfect time at Walt Disney World! Please feel free to send me any other questions at planDisney.

    Sending pixie-dust,
    Tami
