My family is looking at staying at one of the Disney Aminal Kingdom Lodge Resorts. We do not know which one to stay at, Can you help us. We have 2 21 y/o and an 18 y/o. Can you give us the scoop on each?

    Hi Jessica,

It sounds like you are trying to decide between the Animal Kingdom Lodge, and the newest addition to this area Kidani Village, which is part of the Disney Vacation Club. Both properties are available for rent to guests who are not Vacation Club members, as long as there is availability. The properties are within a short distance of each other and guests can walk between on building and the other if they would like.

The Kidani Village, as a Vacation Club property, offers villas for rent and no standard rooms like the original Lodge does. The Kidani Village building has a much smaller lobby and does not provide the counter service option like the Animal Kingdom Lodge does in the Mara. You will also not find a lounge at Kidani Village except for the pool bar and the area inside the restaraunt Sanaa. The pool area at Kidani is smaller although my boys love the kids splash area which is not offered at the ANimal Kingdom Lodge.

While we love Kidani Village and the villa options offered, our personal preference is the actual Animal Kingdom Lodge. It is a breathtaking property from the minute you step into the towering lobby and you will find two table service restaurants, a counter service option, and a lounge not offered at Kidani.

Either property will be wonderful and offer great views of the private savannahs but the actual Lodge will offer a number of additional options that I think your family will enjoy.
