Hi. My family and I are looking to take a January 2022 trip to Walt Disney World. We would like a room with a king size bed, but also a pull-down sleeper for our daughter who will be 2.5 years at the time. Is there a resort that offers this?

    Jambo (hello in Swahili), Rena!

Here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, we are thrilled when families begin planning a new vacation to experience the magic of Walt Disney World Resort

The incredible Walt Disney World Resort hotels are so magical and unique in their own ways. Choosing just one can be difficult (they're all lovely!), and I’m so happy to help you. Deciding which Resort hotel to stay at during our family vacations is my favorite part of the planning process! Rena, if you’re looking at staying in a room with a King sized bed along with extra bedding types, you have quite a few wonderful options!

Let’s begin your safari to The Most Magical Place on Earth at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo House. This Resort hotel offers room types (specifically 1 bedroom and above) that have King Bed options as well as other bedding types. In this case, the other bedding would be a twin sleeper chair and queen sofa in the living room. These rooms are helpful in case your little Mouseketeer needs to nap or sleep in, she has a space to do so without being disturbed. My family adores this Resort hotel because of the lush savannas where you can see giraffes roaming around freely! The last time we stayed there, we opted for a savanna view room and it did not disappoint! I loved grabbing my coffee in the early morning hours, and relaxing while watching the animals from the balcony.

Other options that are similar in nature (although they don’t have giraffes) include:
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort
Disney's Beach Club Villas (this allows for 1 King and 1 Queen Sleep Sofa)
Disney's BoardWalk Villas (the same as Disney's Beach Club Villas for their 1 bedroom configuration)

In most cases it does appear that you would need the Deluxe Villas. If you are on the Room Rates page for any of those properties, you can expand the Amenities tab on that page to view all the features of the room types there.

Ahsante sana (thank you very much) for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Rena! If you have any more questions about your magical vacation, we’re all ears!
