Howdy, Melissa!
If I lived in Texas, I would definitely take advantage of having the Disney Wonder in my backyard. I noticed the newly re-imagined Disney Wonder is back in Galveston November 2017 through the beginning of January 2018. Since you have some flexibility with your schedule, I suggest looking into a
Very Merrytime Cruise. Rates are always subject to change, but the pricing in November (with the exception of Thanksgiving week) and the first of December look pretty good to me! I've experienced two Very Merrytime Cruises, and I would book another one in a heartbeat! You'll love the holiday decor, special festivities and the Disney Characters in their adorable holiday attire!
As for accommodations, two
staterooms is my recommendation. Although, the Concierge 2-Bedroom Suite with Verandah sleeps seven, you'll still find plenty of space in two Deluxe Inside Staterooms, Deluxe Oceanview Staterooms (large porthole or two small portholes) or the Deluxe Oceanview Staterooms with Verandah. There are connecting staterooms in all of these categories so you can open the door to go between the two. Ask yourself do you want rooms with no windows (great for sleeping in) or rooms with a view (window or balcony)? Also, each of these options offers a split bathroom design, which means four sinks to brush teeth at bedtime! With the split bath, one bathroom in each stateroom will have a sink, toilet and storage and one will have a sink, tub/shower and storage. This is a huge timesaver with a large family.
I suggest giving Disney Cruise Line a call at (800) 951-3532 to speak to a reservation agent about connecting room availability and pricing for November and December.
Good luck, Melissa! Please write back if we can help further.
