Our family likes to stop to eat when we are hungry; however, the Disney Dinging Plan (DDP) has made walk-up table service dining scarce. What percentages of tables are allocated to walk-up/same-day dining?

    J,

Unfortunately no tables are specifically allocated to walk-up/same-day dining.  I highly recommended you do your best to approximate the times when you will want to eat and call Disney Dining  (call 407-WDW-DINE) to reserve table service dining.  This is especially true if you have the DDP (and therefore would want to have approx. one table service meal per day), or you are visiting during busier times (summer, holiday weeks, etc.).  If for some reason you are in the parks and don't have a reservation, I recommend you try calling Disney Dining to see if they have any available seating somewhere in the park or perhaps at a nearby resort restaurant.  Lastly, you can walk-up to one of the restaurants in the hope of taking advantage of someone else's last-minute cancelation.

The reality at Disney is a little bit of planning and scheduling is needed to ensure you can have the dining experiences you desire.  Hopefully this site will help more visitors understand these types of facts in advance, and avoid disappointment during their trip.
