Hi Moms ! We are a family of 5 ( kids will be 18,16 and 11 at travel ) . This is our first trip to DisneyWorld and Planning to attend Aug/Sept 2016 . What hotel should we stay at ? POR or Coronado ? Both moderate but with a few thousand difference?

    Hello, Karen!

It is so exciting to plan a first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, and I am so pleased that you have stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your great question! While both of the Moderate Disney Resort hotels that you are considering are great options, there are also a few key points to take into consideration.

First, you will need to consider the sleeping arrangements for your family size and the ages of your children. If you choose to go with one of the 2 Port Orleans Resorts, I do think your family will fit most comfortably in the rooms that offer 2 Queen Beds and 1 Bunk-size Pull-Down Bed at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. There are no rooms with this configuration at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, so please keep that in mind when you go to make your reservation. You will certainly want to select a room that can accommodate 5 adults comfortably.

Disney's Coronado Springs Resort also offers rooms that will suit your family size. There is a substantial price difference to stay at this resort over Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside because the rooms that will accommodate 5 adults comfortably here are considered suites. That said, you may find that the suites here offer a bit more space, which can really come in handy when traveling with teens.

Each of these 2 fantastic Disney Resort hotels offers great pools, arcades and other on-site recreational activities, as well as excellent dining options. If you'd like to compare the dining and recreational options -- as well as other qualities that may help you with your decision -- make sure to check out this Disney Resort hotel comparison tool. You can view up to 4 hotels side-by-side to help you with your planning.

Thanks so much for stopping by the Moms Panel, Karen! If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to write back in. We would love to hEAR from you!
