Family of 4 (2 kids). Grandparents are coming part of the trip on a separate reservation. We will all have the DDP. Can the grandparents take the kids to dinner at a different restaurant one night and still use their dining credits without us present?

    Thomas,

Absolutely YES, you can do that.

What you need to do to make this happen is be sure that the grandparents have the kids "Keys To the World" card. That is the credit card-like room key that has their park tickets, hotel info, etc. on them. If you happen to be one of the families testing out the new MyMagic+ bands, the same process applies.

When they go to dinner, they just need to tell the server that the kids are on the Dining Plan. That way they can pay for their own meals on their plan (or charge to their room, or pay out of pocket, or whatever they want to do), while they have the kids charge their meals to their dining plan credits.

I know this can be confusing, since we are always telling people that everyone in a hotel room has to be on the same dining plan. That is true, but it doesn't mean that they have to eat all together at the same time.

I hope this has helped? Feel free to write me back if you have any follow-up questions!

Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
