For a family of 5 (Kids ages -19, 16 and 8) . Would you suggest Ft. Wilderness Cabins, or Animal Kingdom Jambo House ?

    Hi Ellen!

Our family has had the great fortune to stay at both the Animal Kingdom Lodge and I have to say its one of our favorites!

For an animal lover, nothing can beat the Animal Kingdom Lodge. There aren't too many other places where you can see giraffe, wildebeest and zebras from your hotel room! Even if you choose a non-savanna view room you can enjoy the many common areas with wonderful views. Activities include African stories told fire-side and an African music parade complete with musical instruments played by the kids. The pool area is also wonderful and features a zero-entry area. Transportation to and from all parks will be via buses.

The Ft. Wilderness Cabins are also fun, but personally, I don't think they have quite the exotic and encompassing feel of Animal Kingdom Lodge. Transportation to the Magic Kingdom will be via boat and other parks can be reached by bus. For Epcot, there is an option of a monorail from the Magic Kingdom, but you'll need to change at the Ticket and Transportation center.

If you plan on spreading time out evenly between the parks then the location of Animal Kingdom Lodge won't really be a factor (4 parks by bus via 3 at the Ft. Wilderness). However, if most of your time will be spent at the Magic Kingdom, the boat will be a great convenience!

    Enjoy your trip!
