Hi my family including 2 children will be visiting Disneyland Park, October 31. We will not be attending the Oogie boogie bash and we are not staying at a Disneyland hotel in the resort. My children are hoping for some kind of trick-or-treating?

    Hi there, Ambur!

Welcome to planDisney and thanks for submitting your question to us. How exciting that you have an upcoming Halloween Time visit to the Disneyland Resort with your kids! It's my favorite time of year to visit and I love everything about the Fall season, especially the food!

Even if you aren't attending Oogie Boogie Bash and will not be staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel, there's still plenty of magically spooky fun to be had at the Disneyland Resort! I can't offer up a true trick-or-treat experience, but I have two suggestions for you:

    1. If you have a Park Hopper ticket, head over to Disney California Adventure Park for Mickey's Trick and Treat show at the Disney Theater. It's a fun story and dance party designed for kids and they'll get to take home a special treat at the end. You'll walk out of that theater singing "I want candy... lots of candy!" Keep in mind that this Park will be closing early on Halloween for Oogie Boogie Bash.
    2. Throughout the Resort, Pluto's Pumpkin Pursuit is a fun, scavenger hunt type game that kids and adults alike will love. This is the first year that the Hunt can be done inside the Parks as well. Keep in mind that you'll need to purchase two maps if you want both kids to be able to redeem a prize. Perhaps one child could be responsible for Downtown Disney District and another for Disneyland Park? That would make for a fun family quest!

Take a look at the Halloween Foodie Guide if you want to plan out some culinary adventures with your kids. I love the seasonal menu items and my sweet tooth gets a serious workout this time of year!

Ambur, I hope this gave you some ideas for your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! Whatever you decide, I wish you and your kids a truly magical visit and please feel free to write again if you have more questions! We'll see ya real soon!

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
