My family (husband and 4yo son) will be going to WDW for the first time in Jan 22-25, 2011 and plan to get the deluxe dining plan. Is it too much to have 2 table service in one day? Also, during the time of our visit, should we expect a big crowd? Thanks!

Hi Anette! You've picked a wonderful time for your first visit to Walt Disney World! The parks are generally uncrowded in late January, so you should be able to experience most of the attractions with very little waiting.

Some people like to eat only one big sit-down meal each day, and they feel like the standard Dining Plan works best for them. Other people, however, like to eat more than one table-service meal each day, and the Deluxe Dining Plan offers the best value for them. The best choice for you depends on how your family likes to eat. My personal opinion is that two table-service meals per day is not too much. My family often eats three table-service meals a day at Disney. I much prefer the sit-down restaurants to the counter-service restaurants. The food choices are more varied, and it's more relaxing to sit down in a restaurant and have the waitperson bring my food and drinks to me, rather than standing in line to order and then wandering around a quick-service restaurant trying to find a table while carrying a tray of food and keeping an eye on my children. Also, my family enjoys dining at the gourmet Signature restaurants, which cost two dining plan table-service credits. On the standard plan, you'd have to spend two days worth of your table-service credits to dine at a Signature restaurant, but on the Deluxe plan, you receive three credits per day, so you can dine at at Signature restaurant and still have another table-service meal the same day. In my opinion, the Deluxe Dining Plan is a great choice that will allow you to have a relaxing and luxurious vacation!
