Welcome to planDisney, Meghan. I just love your question...so let's get the ideas flowing!
Your trip sounds like it will be one for the record books...and it's so special that you are looking for ways to spread the magic to your parents just like they've always spread the magic to you. Just know that no matter what you choose, it sounds like your lovely folks are going to appreciate whatever you do. What a wonderful way to show them how much you care and how much they are loved!
If they love behind-the-scenes Disney and have never done
Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour at Magic Kingdom Park, you've got your answer! On this Disney fan's dream tour, you get to tour this classic park with a tour guide, learn stories you've never heard before, and tour parts of the Utilidors that very few Guests get to see. It's a 5-hour walking tour and no one under 16 can go since it reveals some of the magic behind the scenes. I just did this tour this past August and it truly blew me away!
If they've already done this tour, I can heartily recommend two others that were fun, entertaining, and even educational. The
Behind the Seeds Tour in EPCOT will take them into the greenhouses, fish farms, and backstage areas of the classic Living with the Land attraction. The whole operation back there is truly astounding and wonderful to tour and learn all about! And then there's
Savor the Savanna, where you get you embark on a special safari vehicle with a Guide to see the Harambe Wildlife Preserve at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park like never before, packed with all the behind-the-scenes tidbits you'd ever want to know! Plus, right in the middle of it, you get to enjoy a delicious spread of snacks and beverages. This one is
definitely a favorite!
Since you mentioned that they enjoy fireworks, you may want to look into the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties. There's a
Pre-Party where you get to snack on some delicious sweets and sip some beverages before viewing Happily Ever After from a private viewing area. There's also a
Post-Party, where they will view the nighttime spectacular and
then enjoy some sips and eats. But my favorite of the bunch is the
Seats & Sweets version where they will get to sit down and enjoy their tasty goodies and delicious beverages while watching the fireworks from the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant. If you think they'd prefer to see Luminous the Symphony of Us at EPCOT, they can watch this new nighttime spectacular while dining at
Spice Road Table or
Rose & Crown.
Meghan, just like you are lucky to have them, your parents are lucky to have such a warm, caring, and thoughtful child. I hope your vacation is beyond your wildest dreams and I hope they talk about the experience you book for them for years to come.
