Hi Sara!
Welcome back to planDisney! One of my favorite photos is of my son with wide eyes as the famous (or infamous) Kitchen Sink was delivered to our table. I am sorry there are no kittens in a sink, though that sounds like delightful furry fun. I believe autocorrect got the best of that question and you meant the Kitchen Sink!
The Kitchen Sink is loaded with every flavor of ice cream and every extra and topping that is offered at
Beaches & Cream Soda Shop. The menu states this is a serving appropriate for four, but when we ate it with seven, it was tough to finish it all. I have to say, I am so glad we did this, as it was a family adventure and quite the experience, but as an ice cream purist, I prefer a basic cone. The Kitchen Sink is only served inside the restaurant, not as a walk-up option. Currently, with social distancing precautions, walk-up ice cream is not available anyway. You will need an Advance Dining Reservation if you want to try this famous Disney culinary adventure.
This location is very popular and reservations usually book quickly. In my experience, Disney luck sometimes favors those who stalk reservations. If this is something you really want to do, I would use the
My Disney Experience Mobile App frequently to see if anything becomes available. Waiting in line at the grocery check-out? Check for a reservation. Before bed at night, check for a reservation. Having a mid-morning snack break… you get the idea. Guests who don’t cancel a reservation with at least 24 hours notice are charged a cancelation fee. This means you may find other Guests dropping reservations a day or two in advance, so even when you are on the trip, keep checking. Maybe you’ll get lucky!
If you aren't able to snag that coveted reservation, but are in the mood for some ice cream, head on over to
BoardWalk Ice Cream! You'll find ice cream and sundaes to-go at this brand new location, currently open Thursdays through Mondays on Disney's BoardWalk. I am already planning on trying their Bay-Side Brownie a la Mode on my July visit.
Sending you pixie dust, Sara, for that perfect ice cream reservation!
