Hello! My family and I are headed to Disney in April, we are staying at Port Orleans - French Quarter, can you give us insight on the bus system from the hotels to the parks?? Thank you!

Hey, Erika! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for bringing your question to us! You have made a great choice in staying at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. This is one of my favorite places to stay and actually, I just stayed there with my older daughter right before Christmas.

One of the reasons I love this resort is its ease of transportation and options available. Since this is a small resort, there is only one bus stop location, found just outside Port Orleans Square, the main building at your resort. This location is divided into two sections - Bus Stop A is for guests heading to Disney's Animal Kingdom Park, Epcot, and Disney Springs, while you will find at Bus Stop B buses heading to Magic Kingdom Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios. Please note that travel to Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park requires a change at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park, and those heading to Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will use the Disney Springs bus. Buses usually run on average every 10-20 minutes, beginning around 45 minutes to an hour before park opening and ending return service two hours after each park closes. Occasionally, you may find that the buses at this resort are shared with the resort next door, Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside.

A handy and welcome recent addition to the bus stops is a digital screen showing how many minutes until the next bus will arrive from each park. If you do plan to visit Disney Springs, I highly recommend the Sassagoula River Cruise found at the dock to the back of the resort. Every 20 minutes or so, you can hop aboard for a relaxing trip that sure beats a bus any day!

I hope you enjoy your stay at the resort and please let us know if you have any other questions on how to make it even more magical.
