Hi Emily! Welcome back to planDisney!
It's hard to decide which time of year is best to visit
The Most Magical Place on Earth. I love the Spring for the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival and the fall for Halloween and
Disney's After Hours Boo Bash events, but there is just something a little more magical about visiting Walt Disney World Resort during the holidays! Even though I live in Massachusetts, where it snows for FAR too many months of the year, snow on Main Street U.S.A. just feels different!
I was at the Resort this past December for my very first time visiting during the holidays and I had a chance to explore quite a few Resort hotels and their holiday decorations. Staying at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge was absolutely breathtaking. The towering tree filled the lobby with twinkling bright lights, and a gingerbread giraffe statue joined the party while we were visiting! While a party of six would need two Guest rooms here, it is a spectacular place to visit or dine if you want to check out the beauty of the Resort!
I do have a FANTASTIC way for your family of six to really enjoy the holidays, and spread out in comfort while you're visiting! Check out
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. These cabins sleep six adults comfortably and even include a kitchen and personal patio. The best part about them might be that during the holidays Guests decorate their campsites with Christmas lights and blow up decorations! We had so much fun driving through the Resort on our own little light show adventure. Did you know you can even rent a golf cart, making this a fun excursion for your family? We even saw visitors taking
horse-drawn carriage rides around the Resort. It looked like a completely magical moment!
Another pixie-dusted reservation option might be
Disney's Art of Animation Resort, where you and your family can fit comfortably in a Family Suite. The best part about this Resort is that it is right on the
Disney Skyliner line, making it a convenient, fun, and easy way to arrive at
EPCOT,
Disney's Hollywood Studios, and other Resort hotels, like
Disney's Riviera Resort, that will also be beautifully decorated for the season.
Whatever you decide on for a Resort, make sure to take some time to explore the others and get ideas for another holiday trip in the future!
Happy Holiday Planning!
