We have 11 in our family group and the Capture the Moment program says that there is a maximum of eight participants. How can we get all 11 of our family in a photo shoot? Can we book two consecutive sessions?

    Hi Jan!

Welcome to planDisney! I just had to answer your question because I absolutely LOVE the Capture Your Moment PhotoPass sessions! We have done two sessions, one at Magic Kingdom last fall and one at Animal Kingdom Theme Park over the summer, and I have all the tips and tricks for you!

Jan, you are correct that only a maximum of 8 Guests can be accommodated per session. However, in my experience, when we booked two back-to-back sessions at Animal Kingdom this summer, we were allowed to have up to 16 in our group! We were also a party of 11, and this worked out perfectly for us. I had both sessions booked under my name, and so they were already anticipating we may have a larger group.

For the best photo session possible, consider your attire in advance. Perhaps try to limit small patterns or clashing colors. Matching shirts, or coordinating colors is always fun. Maybe have everyone wear earth tones at Animal Kingdom, or whites, pinks, and blues for photos at Magic Kingdom in front of Cinderella Castle? Are you marking any special occasions? You can bring a special item or small prop to personalize your photos even more. During our session at Magic Kingdom I wanted graduation photos of my son. We purchased a custom Ear Hat that said "Class of 2021" on the back with his name, and we got some amazing photos of our graduate!

I found that the 20-minute sessions allowed plenty of time for a lot of photos, but I did have a written list of my “must-have” combinations such as getting one of each kiddo by themselves, one of each married couple, and one of the entire family. If you have an idea of what you want going in, this helps the PhotoPass Photographer make sure to get the shots you want. I also try to remember that the PhotoPass Photographer has done this many times before and they may have some neat photo ideas. Trust their expertise, and don’t be afraid to try something new!

And don’t forget Jan, that the cost of Capture Your Moment is essentially the sitting fee. You will need Memory Maker, which is an added cost, to get unlimited access to all the photos taken during your session. For the number and quality of photos that we got, it was an excellent value for us.

So grab your family, Jan, and “Say Cheese!”
