So my family and I are getting ready for our 3rd trip to Disneyworld. I want to stay a couple (Sun-Tue) of nights at Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge with DVC and then spend the rest of the week at a resort. Which would you recommend that is not far from AKL?

Hi, Carlos. My family loves Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge so much, that we made the Disney Vacation Club villas one of our home resorts. What a great way to start your vacation.

One of the resorts that is fairly close to the Lodge is Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. One of the resorts in the moderate category, the hotel is a romantic, Spanish style resort with an awesome swimming pool. You'll find both quick service and table service restaurant options here, and the resort has undergone recent refurbishment, so many of the rooms are newly designed and decorated. I love them.

Another option not far from Animal Kingdom Lodge is Disney's All-Star Sports Resort. This value resort is so fun with it's giant sports icons. My girls are not even big into sports, but they love Huey, Dewey, and Louie playing basesball and the giant football helmets.

To make your vacation a little bit easier, when you check out of Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, you can have bell services handle your bags to your next resort. We have many times done a split stay, and we just have bell services more the bags for us. It helps you get right back to being on your vacation without any added stress.

Thanks so much for your question! Have an amazing trip.
