Hi! My family of four (4 year old,2 year old) are making our first trip to WDW in September. We are staying 6 days 5 nights, all tickets, are paid for and have purchased a dining plan! Typically how much spending $ is needed? Average about $100?day?

    Jennifer,

Since your meals are pre-paid with the Disney Dining Plan, then I think $100/day is more than you will need, which is great news!

You will still need to pay your gratuities out of pocket, if you are eating any table service meals. As an example, for your family, the gratuity on a character meal at Chef Mickey's would be $20.50. (This is based on two adults, one child, and one infant who is free)

Beyond gratuities, you might like some money for extra drinks or snacks like popcorn or ice cream, which generally run from $2-$5 each.

Souvenirs are harder to price out...there are Mickey straws for under a dollar, to, well, the sky is the limit! There are many upscale options on property that could cut into your wallet quite significantly, if you are so inclined. You will also find tons of options under $20, for kids and adults alike.

If you feel comfortable spending an additional $100 per day, then I say go ahead and plan on that. However, I think on that budget, you might just be pleasantly surprised to return with money leftover - a great way to start saving for your next Disney vacation!

    Have a wonderful trip!
