We are a family of four traveling to Disney for the first time in September. My daughter is 4 and loves princesses. My son is 7 and will tolerate one princess character event. Any recommendations on which to chose to make both happy?

Hi Cathryn!  YAY!  Congratulations on planning your VERY FIRST Walt Disney World vacation!  I totally share your plight as I have a boy and a girl, and getting either to share in a princess or pirate experience is definitely tough.  I found a decent middle ground when we experienced dinner at Cinderella’s Royal Table.  Upon being seated, they gave my son a sword and my daughter a wand.  They spent part of the evening entertained with such, him “dueling” with her wand and allowing her to bestow “wishes” upon each other. My son loved the fact that he was given a sword, and has it still today.  She enjoyed the ability to take her picture with Cinderella and Belle.  The food is good, and if given seats near the windows, seeing Wishes from within the castle is definitely an opportunity not to be missed. Hope this helps you plan a magical vacation! -Malanie

Hi there! The Disney Parks have been a part of my life since I was a little girl. Introducing my children, husband, and family to all the magic that Walt Disney World can offer has led to countless moments with Mickey and Friends, Disney Vacation Club membership and fun on the high seas with Disney Cruise Lines! Our vacations are usually centered around a visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth, and I am super excited to help you plan and create magical moments for you and your families!
