Hi! Our family of four (sons are 4 and 2) will be heading to WDW in September! We are so excited! Just wondering about Value Resorts vs. Moderate Resorts....with our little ones, which would be the better option? Thanks!

    Hi Jason,

Hooray for Disney World in September! There are great rates and cooler weather with less crowds!

When I think about Disney World, I always think about the people I am traveling with and how can I help them have the best time. For your group, you have two young children and they will need a stroller. With this in mind, I recommend Moderate over a Value just because you spend less time on the bus.

For a moderate resort, I recommend the Magnolia Bend Mansions at Port Orleans Riverside. This resort is wonderful for young families and the mansions keep you close to the action like buses and dining.

For a value resort, Pop Century is great. It is wonderfully themed and a fun place to stay. Another option would be the family suites at either Art of Animation of All-Star Music. You would have two bathrooms, a separate bedroom and a kitchenette.

Finally, my best recommendation would be for you to stay at a monorail resort or over at Yacht Club, Beach Club or the BoardWalk Inn. While these are more expensive, you will have an easier time with transportation since you can ride the monorail or boat to and from the parks. This is a great feature when you have sleeping children in a stroller and you can push them right onto the transportation home. You might be able to afford this if you stay one less day and skip the park hopper option on your tickets (save the money and do not get the park hopper no matter which resort you stay at).

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
