Hi We are a family of four and have Disney dining plan. When we last came the meals are huge and both my self and son don’t each masses in one meal. Can we order one meal and share it using one table service credit? I hate wasting food. Thank you,

    Hey Rupal,

Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for bringing this delicious question about dining to us. Food at Walt Disney World is one of my most favorite subjects! Disney’s Dining Plans offer the convenience of prepaid meals, making your vacation to The Most Magical Place on Earth really feel like an all-inclusive resort stay. With a family of four, I know you probably value convenience just like I do. Sign me up for anything that makes my life a little easier.

As a Disney Resorts Collection hotel guest, you’ll get dining and snack credits to use for each day of your resort stay. Unused credits will roll over on a daily basis, and they will expire at midnight on your last night. I can totally relate to your question here, because I also think meals at Disney World can sometimes come in large portions, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing! Especially when those portions include something I love, like those yummy noodles at ‘Ohana inside Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! My teenager and I used to also share meals when he was younger (though now we can’t because he eats for three sometimes, haha), so your strategy isn’t a bad one. However, according to my fellow panelist Amy, some table service restaurants may not permit this, so you will want to ask your host or server when you arrive for your reservation.

Keep in mind that some dining experiences like fine/signature and character dining locations may require 2 dining credits per person. Also keep in mind that some of these locations automatically deduct those dining credits once you sit for your reservation. So, if you’ll want to dine in the Beast’s castle at Be Our Guest Restaurant at Magic Kingdom, you will be using 2 dining credits per person. You’ll want to ask your server to be sure.

I hope this information is helpful, Rupal. If you have additional questions about your Disney World vacation, come back and see us here at planDisney. Until then, TTFN… ta-ta for now!
