Mom and Daughter at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort Room

    My family and I are flying out to Disney this Sunday! We are staying at the Port Orleans Riverside. We are all very excited but I'm feeling very overwhelmed. Lots of people are warning me about the weather and how busy the park will be. Any advice?

    How exciting Rebecca! Don't feel overwhelmed - this is the time to enjoy all your plans! You've made a fantastic choice with Port Orleans Riverside. We absolutely love it there! Be sure to take the boat to Downtown Disney. And I certainly wouldn't worry about the weather. It will definitely be hot and humid, so bring lots of cool clothes and sunscreen. It tends to rains daily, which breaks the humidity, so bring a rain poncho if you can. If not, they sell them everywhere on Disney property.

    In the hot summer, we always try to get to the parks early. I'm always amazed how much we get in during the early morning hours. After lunch, we head back to the resort and enjoy the pool for a few hours, and then go back to the park in the evening when the hot sun has gone down and the temperatures are cooler.
