We are a family of five & I am wondering if my oldest daughter who will be 8 when we visit will be able to ride the rides by herself when all five of us will be riding and it can only fit two people? Is there a minimum age requirement to ride? Thanks

    Hi Alexia!

What a great question and one I had a months ago, since my youngest boys had reached the 40 inch height marker.   I also have a family of five, and was worried about what my 9 year-old daughter would do when we all wanted to ride an attraction as a family.   I found that most rides allowed 3 people to sit in one row.   There were a few exceptions to this rule such as the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.  According to the Park Rules and Regulations listed on the Walt Disney World website, "to board an attraction, children under age 7 must be accompanied by a person age 14 years or older." Since my princess was 9 years-old she was able to sit in the car behind us, and they sat a single rider with her.  On Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin she rode in a vehicle by herself.  Your 8 year-old will have no problem riding by herself.  Cast Members may ask her age when you get on the attraction, but since she is over 7 years-old she will have no problem.

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel today.  I wish you pixie-dusted planning as you chart out your Walt Disney World adventure.  Please stop by again if I can be of any additional assistance.
