Hi! Can a family of five stay at a value resort like Pop if one of the children is two years old. If so, why will it not give me the option on the Disney booking site?

    Hi Ashley!

We're so glad you stopped by with your question today! As mom to 3 boys myself, I know how it can sometimes be a challenge to find a room that sleeps a party of 5 when you're traveling. Happily, Walt Disney World has some great options for our families!

The standard rooms at Value Resorts, including Disney's Pop Century Resort, can accommodate 4 people plus a young child under 3 years old. You can request a Pack 'n Play for your little one, which is available at no charge. This is definitely a super-affordable option, so even though you won't have a lot of room to spread out, it might not make that much difference if your family is anything like mine and doesn't spend too much time in the room on vacation.

You will need to list all 5 members of your family on your reservation, so when making arrangements for a Value Resort, the best way to do this is to call (407) W-DISNEY (934-7639).

When you're ready to make another visit to Walt Disney World after your youngest is 3 years or older, there are lots of other options for rooms that sleep 5.  In the Value Resort category are the Family Suites.  Those are available at both Disney's All-Star Music Resort and Disney's Art of Animation Resort and they sleep 6, so you'll get more space, plus they have 2 bathrooms and a kitchenette.

In the Moderate Resort category, one of my family's favorites is Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside.  There are some rooms there (in the Alligator Bayou section) that have 2 queen beds and a Murphy-style bed that sleeps a fifth person. Most of the Deluxe Resorts also sleep five, with 2 queen beds and a day bed in each room.  My family's favorites in that category are Disney's Beach Club Resort and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.

Sending you wishes for pixie-dusted planning, Ashley!  Please visit us here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel again if we can help answer any other questions.
