My family of five is looking at an august vacation considering POR or carribean beach. We have been to POR but never carribean beach. We loved POR but wondering if we should try something new?? We have dd 11 and 9, ds 6.

    Hi Angela!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  We are so thrilled you are finding our advice helpful when planning your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation. I've stayed at both Resorts you are considering, so hopefully I can provide you with helpful information. Both Resorts are in the moderate price level and offer similar amenities such as Table-Service restaurants,   great recreational activities, and amazing pools with water slides. Disney's Caribbean Beach has newly remodeled rooms that will accommodate parties of five Guests, and Disney's Port Orleans Resort-Riverside can sleep up to five Guests in the Alligator Bayou section of the Resort.

Disney's Port Orleans Resort-Riverside, as you know from past trips is beautiful. I adore the themeing, and the water taxi service to Downtown Disney is an added perk.  I also enjoy the proximity to Disney's Port Orleans Resort-French Quarter, which is home to some delicious beignets that make a great morning snack.   The feel of this Resort is very laid back and full of southern charm and hospitality.  My family always feel welcome and at home when I stay here.

Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is really fun.  The tropical ambiance has you imagining you're on an island vacation.    In my opinion the pool area is far better here than at Disney's Port Orleans Resort-Riverside.  The pool is pirate themed and even has a splash pad area for little ones.  The food court area is much larger and offers a great selection of meals.   My husband's favorite activity is lounging in one of the many hammocks around the Resort, I often have to search for him and wake him up when I do find him.

Angela, your family won't be disappointed with either Resort.  If you want to try something new go for Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort.  If you have any other questions about your vacation, please let us know.
