Our family of 9 are all first staying BT grand villa for 3 days and then off to AK for 4 more days. However at AK we have 3 separate reservations. Must the DP be for all 4 reservations or can we separate when we get to AK? Thanks

    Hi Donald!

It sounds like you have quite the exciting vacation planned! We often travel with extended family and multiple reservations so I am happy to help you with your question.

Each separate reservation number is independent from the others. You are able to add the Disney Dining Plan to each reservation number separately.  This means if my family who has their own room would like to purchase the Disney Dining Plan, but my brother’s family who is in a separate room does not wish to purchase it, we can do that.

Please do know that on each individual reservation, each person on that reservation must have the Disney Dining Plan and it must be added for the entire length of the reservation. This means that if there are four people in a room for six nights and someone would like to add the Disney Dining Plan, all four people must purchase the Disney Dining Plan and it must be purchased for all six nights. Within the each reservation, things cannot be split up.

With multiple reservations it is also important to know that Disney Dining Plan Credits begin when you check-in to the resort, and expire at midnight on the night you check-out. If you purchase the Disney Dining Plan for everyone in the family while staying in the Grand Villa, those credits will expire at midnight on the night you check-out of the Grand Villa. If you are then staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, those credits from the first part of the trip will not extend into the rest of your vacation, even if you purchase the Disney Dining Plan for the second segment of the trip as well.

I hope this information helps you as you plan your grand summer vacation! Be sure to try my favorite use for a snack credit, a Dole Whip Float from Aloha Isle in Adventureland!

    Have a Magical Day!
