Hi, my family and I will be going on our first Disney cruise in November with another family. Is it possible to request an early embarkation time? How are the times assigned? Is it possible to coordinate the time with our friends? BTW love your site !!!

    Welcome Aboard, Cindy!

I am so glad you found the Disney Parks Moms Panel to ask your questions before you set sail on your very first Disney Cruise Line vacation! I wish I had been fortunate enough to find this site before MY first cruise.

When you are doing your online check-in, you will be able to select a port arrival time. Since you are a first-time cruiser, you are in the last group of online check-ins, so your port arrival time might be a little later. Never fear, you can still arrive to the port as early as you want. This is an adventure in itself. There is an amazing model of the Disney Magic in then Port Canaveral terminal, and some of your favorite Disney friends will come out to take pictures, too!.

If you find that the other family traveling with you is assigned a different embarkation group number, know that families can always board with a later group, but no one is allowed to board before their number is called. If you have not done so, call Disney Cruise Line Reservations at 800-951-3532  number to link your reservations. This will ensure that you are seated together for meals, and will allow you to book Port Adventures and onboard activities (like Senses Spa & Salon or Palo) for both parties at the same time.

Other quick first time cruise tips:
    1. Book a future cruise while you are onboard to enjoy a 10% savings on most future sailings as well as an onboard credit on your next cruise.
    2. Order room service. There is nothing better than warm chocolate cookies and milk brought to your room before bed, or a Mickey Premium Ice Cream bar in the late afternoon (trust me, it's not on the menu, but just ask!)
    3. Relax and don't stress that you haven't done everything! That is what your NEXT cruise is for!

I hope you have an amazing first cruise! Please visit us again with more questions that arise before you set sail.

    Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
