Ahoy, Nicole!
The time is almost here for your crew to enjoy your first magical vacation aboard Disney Cruise Line! I know the next few days may be a bit hectic as you prepare, but know that it will all be worth it real soon!
My sailors think the youth programming onboard Disney Cruise Line is the best at sea! They have spent countless hours there enjoying scheduled activities like Super Sloppy Science, GAGA Ball, Anyone Can Cook, Parachute Games and the Marshmallow Olympics. They've also enjoyed the option to choose their own fun like playing with Mr. Potato Head in Andy's Room, drawing their favorite Disney Character in the Animator's Studio or learning how to drive a ship at the Navigation Game Station! While Disney Characters may visit the
Oceaneer Club and
Oceaneer Lab, it's definitely not enough to keep your son from all the fun!
My advice is to stop by the first afternoon during the Open House to introduce him to the youth counselors and explore the space together. I think the first thing you'll notice is the massive size of the area. The club and lab are connected and if both are open for secured programming, your son is welcomed to move to the other space if a Disney Character comes in for an activity. I would also suggest talking with the youth counselors about his issue and ask them their suggestions. They can also give you an idea of planned programming that may involve a character like Pluto's Pajama Party. I think you'll find them very accommodating and helpful!
Nicole, I hope your son has a change of heart about the Disney Characters on your cruise next week! I was a little nervous about my son on our first cruise, but after the second day, he warmed up to them.
Have a magical time!
Nancy
