This is my family first cruise trip ever and we are very excited about it. We are planning to take one in June when the kids are out of school. I was looking at the price and that is a lot to pay out at one time, can we do payments on it from time to time?

    Ahoy, Katrina!

I'm so glad that you are considering booking a Disney Cruise Line vacation for your family!

When you book your cruise, you will need to pay a 20% deposit right away. This is fully refundable up until your paid in full (PIF) date, which is typically 75 days prior to sailing, for most cruises. There are circumstances where this differs slightly, but once you are booked, you will be informed of what your PIF date is. If you decide to cancel your cruise before this date, you will receive a full refund of your 20% deposit.

Yes, you can make payments at any time by calling either the Travel Agent that you booked the cruise with (if that is how you booked) or Disney Cruise Line Reservations at 800-951-3532. You can not set up automatic payments, but you can decide on your payment when you call.

One of my best tips is to purchase Disney Gift Cards at either the Disney Store or at your local supermarket every time you visit there. Then, you can apply those gift cards to your cruise payment by calling your Travel Agent or DCL. (Please be aware that if you book through a travel agent, only they can call to make a payment of any kind for you.)

We collect Disney Gift Cards throughout the year for various holidays and occasions, as well as purchase them while shopping. This drastically helps to cut down on the cruise fare when we decide to book. Also, when you fall in love with the Disney cruise ship, be sure to book a future cruise onboard to enjoy a 10% savings and an onboard credit on your future cruise!

I hope this helps with your cruise planning! Please visit us again here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with more questions as you continue to plan for your summer cruise.

    Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
