Hi! My family is going on our first cruise Feb. 5th on the Disney Wonder and my sons Birthday is Feb. 8th he is turning 11 is there anything we can do to celebrate his Birthday?

    Ahoy, Sherry!

I'm so excited you are about to embark on your first magical voyage aboard Disney Cruise Line next week! And that your son will be celebrating his 11th birthday while aboard! I know it will be vacation filled with endless magic for your crew.

There are a few ways to add a dose of pixie dust to your sailing next week. First, check out the Gifts and Amenities Section of the Disney Cruise Line website as soon as possible for some extras that you can purchase for the cruise. Celebration cakes are available for purchase, but must be ordered seven days prior to departure. There are several size, flavor and cake options to consider, and you can have the cake delivered to your dining table or to your stateroom. If you decide not to order a cake, a small birthday dessert will be delivered to your dining table on the night of your son's birthday. You can either call Disney Cruise Line this week at (800) 951-3532 to have your son's birthday noted on your cruise reservation or let your servers know once you are aboard. They will bring out the dessert and sing so have your camera ready!

While you are browsing around the Gifts and Amenities Section, you will also see birthday-themed stateroom decorations for purchase. I've celebrated by birthday at sea and loved opening the door each time to this festive decor. I even packed it up carefully and still use it at home for birthdays! There are also some cruise-themed gifts to consider as well. These need to be ordered 48 hours prior to departure.

You also will want to stop by Guest Services upon boarding to pick up a celebration button that I encourage your son to wear the entire cruise! The cast, crew and other Guests will all want to wish him well.

Best wishes for a pixie dusted first cruise, Sherry and happy early birthday to your son! A Disney Cruise is the perfect vacation to celebrate.
