What should my family expect from a Halloween party at MK? What should we bring, and what time does the park open for the day? We are planning on arriving on 10/31, and would like to know the characters available, and where to meet them.

Hi, Lynda!  Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is a hard ticket event, meaning that you need a separate ticket to attend the party.  It is not included in the regular admission.  On the day of the party, the Magic Kingdom itself will likely open at 9 AM, but guests holding only party tickets can use those tickets to be admitted after 4 PM (although the party does not officially start until 7).

The Magic Kingdom is transformed for the Halloween party, and you will find that everything from lighting and decor to shows and attractions themed towards Halloween.  The Boo to You Parade that takes place during the party begins with the ride of the Headless Horseman, and brings all of your favorite Disney characters out in costume.

Many people come in costume, and everyone is welcome to trick or treat throughout the park.  There are trick or treat locations scattered all over, and you will be given a special party guide map to help you find them.

In years past, there has also been a dance party.  My kids love this, especially when some of the characters come out and dance as well!

If you want to know which characters are available to meet during the party, you will have to consult a guide map when you arrive to determine the locations of the meet and greets.  In years past, we have met Alice and the Mad Hatter; Buzz Lightyear; Mickey; Minnie; Cinderella; and others.  Characters and where to meet them will vary.

If you plan to go to the party on Halloween, purchase your tickets as soon as you can!  Halloween is one night that always sells out!  Tickets are on sale now at 407-W-DISNEY.
