Hi there, Rachel! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney...and how exciting that your family will be ringing in the New Year at The Most Magical Place on Earth! What a fantastic way to start 2026!
Both Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT are known for their incredible New Year’s Eve celebrations, complete with fireworks that light up the sky. At Magic Kingdom, the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks are a beloved tradition, usually presented on both December 30 and 31, so you might even have two chances to experience them! The show typically takes place around midnight, and the park can reach capacity early in the day, so I definitely recommend arriving bright and early to soak in the magic.
At EPCOT, the celebration is equally magical. The Cheers to the New Year: A Sparkling Celebration fireworks bring an amazing midnight countdown and a grand finale over World Showcase Lagoon. DJs and dance parties often happen throughout the different pavilions for an around-the-world celebration!
As for fireworks dining packages or other special New Year’s Eve events, nothing has been officially announced just yet. I spoke with a Disney Dining Cast Member, and they confirmed that details haven’t been released, but that’s completely normal for this time of year. Disney tends to keep those plans under wraps until we get much closer to the holidays. In past years, information has typically appeared toward the end of October or early November, so we should be hearing something soon!
When it comes to dining with a view, in past years, the
Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties have been available on New Year’s Eve, offering a reserved viewing area for the show. Upscale resort restaurants like Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort have also hosted special New Year’s Eve dinners.
California Grill, in particular, is famous for its upscale themed celebration, which sells out quickly once it’s announced. Typically, experiences like these can be booked about 60 days in advance through the
Enchanting Extras Collection.
And since the brand-new
GEO 82 Fireworks Dessert Experience just opened at EPCOT, it’s possible that Disney could offer something special there for this year’s celebration. We don’t have any past New Year’s data to go by yet, but it could be one to watch if you’re looking for a unique viewing spot. Just keep in mind that this experience is limited to Guests ages 21 and older, so if you’re celebrating with little ones, it might not be the best fit for your family.
If you’re looking for something truly memorable,
Fireworks Cruises on Seven Seas Lagoon or Crescent Lake are another magical option, and they are usually offered on New Year's Eve. Because these take place on a holiday, pricing will be higher than usual, but they offer an unforgettable way to watch the show. My best advice is to keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog and the official Walt Disney World website over the next few weeks, since that’s where announcements will appear first once reservations open.
Rachel, I hope your family’s celebration is filled Mickey-shaped treats to toast the New Year!
See ya real soon,
Eean
