My family will be enjoying our first cruise this May on the Magic! Our children are in K and 2nd grade we like them to read daily, but books can be bulky to pack. What types and levels of books are available to them on the ship?

    Hi Karen!

I'm thrilled to hear you will be taking advantage of having the Disney Magic up in your next of the woods this summer! Cruising from the New York Harbor will be spectacular as you sail by the Statue of Liberty and the stunning New York skyline!  I'm also cruising from NYC this summer and can't wait to experience a magical sail away!

My children are also avid readers and like to enjoy books when we travel.  Unfortunately, the Disney Magic does not have a library onboard.  When my family cruises, I visit our local library and stock up on paperback books that don't take up too much room.  I also don't pack them in the same bag to help with the weight.  Another option we have done recently is to purchase books off  iTunes.  If you have an iPhone, iPad or iTouch you can view them on there.  There are also children's books for eReaders such as the Kindle or Nook. They can also enjoy storytime in the Oceaneer Club during your cruise.  Just check your Personal Navigator, your daily cruise newsletter, for details! I hope my suggestions help!  If you think of any other cruise questions, please let me know!  I'm always happy to help!

Have a magical day and bon voyage!
