Our family is going to DW in May. We booked 3 separate rooms and have 3 separate confirmation numbers. Are my husband and I able to get the dining plan even if the other rooms don’t? If so, can a mixed party of plan/no plan dine together?

    Hi Stephanie!

The Disney Dining Plan is a great way to enjoy the many flavors of the Walt Disney World Resort! Many families love the ability to pre-pay for their meals, and it makes dining easy and convenient. There is something about snack credits that makes me especially happy. I don’t know why, but knowing I have a snack credit to spend that day just brings me joy! Will it be a Mickey Bar? A Funnel Cake? Churro? There are so many delicious things to choose from!

You’ll be happy to know that if you have three separate reservation numbers, that you can split up which reservations decide to add the Disney Dining Plan and which do not. The rule is that everyone on a single reservation must all purchase the Disney Dining Plan and it must be for the entire length of the reservation. If you and your husband are in your own room, with your own reservation number, you can add the Disney Dining Plan just for your room. If you have other Guests sharing your room, you would all need to add the Disney Dining Plan. The other reservation numbers can add the Disney Dining Plan if they wish, but they don’t have to.

We frequently travel as a large group where some are using the Disney Dining Plan, while others are using discounts through Disney Vacation Club or their Annual Pass. Disney Cast Members are very accustomed to this situation and will have no problems handling various forms of payment. Do know that parties of 6 or larger will automatically have an 18% gratuity added to the check, even if that check itself is split up into smaller groups.

If you’d like to add the Disney Dining Plan, you can modify your existing reservation through your Travel Agent or by contacting Disney directly. I hope this helps, Stephanie!

Wishing you a vacation of delicious dining!
