Hi Kaitlyn! Welcome to planDisney. Halloween is such a wonderful time to visit the Disneyland Resort! Both parks are transformed into a whimsically spooky wonderland, filled with glowing pumpkins, hauntingly fun décor, and just the right amount of Disney magic in every corner. I’m happy to help you plan for your visit!
I took a look at the
Guest Courtesy and Attire Policies listed on the
Disneyland Resort website, and unfortunately, outside of special events such as
Oogie Boogie Bash, Guests ages 14 and older may not wear costumes in Disneyland or Disney California Adventure. It’s ultimately up to the discretion of the Security Cast Members at the entrance to decide whether your cow onesie fits within the guidelines. My best advice would be to bring an alternative outfit along, just in case you’re asked to change before entering. That way, you’ll be prepared and can spend your time focusing on what really matters: enjoying all the Halloween magic around you!
Since you’ll be visiting during Halloween Time, let me give you a little preview of the spooktacular sights waiting for you. As you stroll down Main Street, you’ll be greeted by hundreds of hand-carved pumpkins perched along the rooftops, each one showcasing its own delightful personality. (My favorite is the Elvis pumpkin. It’s hard to miss that signature pompadour!) Over in New Orleans Square, Jack Skellington and his frightful friends from Halloween Town bring their signature chaos to a classic attraction, creating Haunted Mansion Holiday. Q-Tip: swing by at twilight if you can. You might just catch Jack’s special lighting moment when the mansion glows with a ghostly sparkle as night begins to fall.
Across the Esplanade, Disney California Adventure keeps the Halloween fun going strong. Radiator Springs transforms into Radiator Screams, where Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween offer delightfully silly spins on beloved attractions. When the sun dips below the horizon, the “Sh-Boom” neon lighting ceremony adds a spooky twist that’s pure Cars Land magic. Buena Vista Street’s vintage décor makes it a charming backdrop for photos, and thrill-seekers won’t want to miss Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark, a high-energy seasonal adventure that’s both eerie and exhilarating.
I hope this helps you plan your Halloween visit with confidence, Kaitlyn. If you have any more questions before your trip, please stop by planDisney again. We’d love to help make your spooky season even more magical.
Wishing you a frightfully fun day filled with pumpkins, laughter, and plenty of Disney delight,
David
