My family will be going to Disney World in October the 9 of us 3 children 3,8 and 8. We are trying to plan our dining but having trouble getting us all together at the same time. My sister has 2 girls and I have a boy 8 so no princess for him any tips?

    Hi Elizabeth,

Traveling with family can be amazing and a logistical challenge. Whenever we travel with our extended family, we always have a conversation around meals and what is expected. Do we need to be together for every meal or just a few? Does anyone have a restaurant they really want to dine at or that they do not like? Answering all of these questions now makes for a better experience once you arrive onsite.

As for the children, I always look for restaurants that they would like something off the menu. My children have dined at the California Grill, Yachtman Steakhouse and the Flying Fish Cafe. The California Grill has been a favorite since my youngest was three and my children do not have fancy palettes.

We also enjoy Whispering Canyon Cafe which is just crazy and fun! 1900 Park Fare, while it has Cinderella and her stepsisters, is a great meal and entertaining. Even the boys who dine there enjoy it. We also like Cape May Cafe, Teppan Edo and Via Napoli.

If your children know about the trip, sit down with everyone and discuss where you want to eat.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
