Hello, My family and I are going to Disney World in May and I was wondering if we are allowed to wear flip flops on the rides?

    Hi Angela,

Flips flops are absolutely fine footwear for Walt Disney World. There is only one ride where flips flops pose any sort of issue - that's Soarin' at Epcot.

At Soarin' your feet dangle freely in the air during the ride, with the possibility that they could fall off and hit someone below you. If you wear flips flops here, you will simply be asked to slide your feet out of them just before the ride takes you up. At the end of the attraction, when you return to earth, your shoes will be there and you'll slide your feet right back in them. Totally easy!

My daughters actually LOVE wearing flip flops when we go on Soarin'. They enjoy the feeling of "hang gliding" barefoot. They get made at me when they're wearing sneakers on that attraction and I tell them to keep their shoes on.

    Have fun!
