Hi, my family is going to Disney World in May. If some of our party are opting for the free key card instead of Magic Bands, how do we get them once we are there? We are doing Online Check In so didn't know if the process was different.

Hey there, Amanda! Welcome back to planDisney! We appreciate you taking the time to stop back by and allowing us to help you plan another visit to Walt Disney World Resort!

Online Check-In is a great way to bypass the front desk at your Disney Resort hotel and jump right into the fun of your vacation at Walt Disney World Resort! With just a few quick steps, this online service allows Guests to enter all the needed information into their My Disney Experience account and head directly to their room as soon as it’s available. You will receive a notification through the My Disney Experience app or through your provided email with your room information and directions to its location whenever you are clear to enter!

If you plan on utilizing the Online Check-In feature, you have a few different options when it comes to entering your room! If some Guests in your party choose to purchase MagicBands, they will be able to use these wristbands to enter the room at your Disney Resort hotel. You may also take advantage of the Unlock Door feature on your phone through the My Disney Experience app. If specific Guests in your party would prefer a tangible way of entering the room, you will need to stop by the front desk at some point to pick up a Key to the World Card for your stay.

Also, if you haven’t heard the news yet, the Disney MagicMobile option has just recently launched on Apple devices! This brand-new feature will allow Guests to utilize the convenient features of a MagicBand right from their smart devices. Guests may use this service by creating a Disney MagicMobile Pass through the My Disney Experience app and adding it to the Wallet app on the iPhone or the digital Wallet on other smart devices. From there, you will simply need to hold your smart device to an access point to use the available features!

I hope you and your family have a magical time visiting Walt Disney World Resort this May! Please let us know if we can assist with planning any other portions of your stay!
