Hi Tanya!
Absolutely! Walt Disney World is known for celebrations, and Independence Day is no exception. The fireworks at the Magic Kingdom, on both July 3rd and July 4th are NOT TO BE MISSED. In Disney's special magical style, the fireworks are accompanied by the most inspiring music that tugs your patriotic heart strings (I'll admit, more than one tear was shed by my family!).
You've also highlighted the best way to see the celebration: In a reserved area, complete with incredible desserts, beverages and the best view imaginable! There are a few choices available for this special experience: the
Fireworks Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing, the
Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace and the
Magic Kingdom After-Fireworks Dessert Party. While you can't go wrong with any of these, my favorite is the one located in the Plaza Garden: the location and ambiance just can't be beat!
Of course, the July 4th holiday is a popular time to visit Walt Disney World resort, so you'll want to make reservations for the dessert party as soon as you can. Reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance. I'd recommend trying to book as far in advance as you can.
Bonus idea: There are often additional July 4th celebrations around Walt Disney World resort. If you plan for the Magic Kingdom fireworks on July 3rd, you'll likely be visiting the park on the less crowded day AND you'll have the opportunity to explore other celebrations on the actual day of July 4th. That's a double win!
Have a magical time on your vacation, and let the Moms Panel know if we can help with more of your plans!
