    Our family will be at Disney World during Memorial day week. Are there special events or other tips we should know of given the holiday?

    Hi, Stacy!  There are no specific Memorial Day events that are currently scheduled to occur at Walt Disney World, but I did want to point out something that makes the holiday weekend even more memorable.

    At the Magic Kingdom at about 5:00 PM each evening, they hold a Flag Retreat Ceremony.  The ceremony takes place right at the square where you come into the Magic Kingdom, just before you find yourself on Main Street, USA.  A special guest (usually a veteran) is randomly chosen earlier in the day to participate in the ceremony, and I always find it very moving.  The flag is lowered, there's some music, and the pledge of allegiance, and it's just a lovely ceremony.  

    Not associated with Memorial Day itself, May 25 - 27 is also a Star Wars Weekend at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  It may not be related to the holiday, but it's a great time!
