My family is going to Disney Nov. 4 - 11. My son's and my birthday are november 6th, and he really wants to have a pirate birthday party. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi, Glen!  If your son wants to celebrate in true pirate fashion, Walt Disney World is probably the best place to do so!

The Magic Kingdom is the perfect location to begin your pirate birthday celebration.  Book yourselves an appointment at the new Pirates League, where your son can be made over into a pirate, with everything from face paint to full costume if you choose.  My whole family did the makeovers, and depending on the style you choose, it can generally be done in about 30 minutes.

Head out of the Pirates League and right into Pirates of the Caribbean, which is right next store.  Following the ride, check your schedule to see when you might get a chance to learn all the tricks of the pirate trade in Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Tutorial.

Not had your fill of pirates yet?  By calling 407-WDW-PLAY, you can book a Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage to cap off the pirate birthday in spectacular fashion!  The Voyage leaves from the Contemporary Resort, but before you head out on the Seven Seas (lagoon), you will enjoy a buffet of snacks and drinks, and have the opportunity to meet some of your pirate favorites.  You leave from the Contemporary on a voyage that takes you to your front row seat for the Electric Water Pageant, followed by the best seat in the house for the Wishes Fireworks display from the Magic Kingdom.

To add an extra special pirate touch, you can order a custom cake from the Walt Disney World cake hotline.  Reach them at 407-827-2253. This requires 48 hours advance notice, but they can make just about anything you want!

Have a very happy birthday celebration!
