Hello. My family is are going to Disney in May. We are considering the Memory Maker. I've look at the FAQ still just don't understand it. So it is an additonal cost to use, but what exactly is it? Do I buy the photos or are they mine to just order? Thanks!

Welcome to the Disney Park Mom Panel, Ashlin! I completely understand your confusion. Let me see if I can help you out.

Walt Disney World's Memory Maker photo package is essentially pre-purchasing the photos you will have taken on rides, at PhotoPass locations, meeting the characters and in certain restaurants. You will use either your MagicBand or a PhotoPass card to collect your photo from the photographer or the ride photo counter. Those photos will then be linked to your My Disney Experience account.

If your traveling party is connected in your My Disney Experience account using the Friends & Family feature, they will be able to collect their photos separately and you, as the Memory Maker 'owner', will not need to be present. You will also be able to view, customize and download all their pictures directly to your computer without waiting for the photo CD to arrive.

The current cost is $199 as of April, 2014. However, if you purchase Memory Maker at least 3 days in advance you will receive a $50 discount. There are literally hundreds of photo opportunities throughout Walt Disney World making the package quite a deal.

I hope this helps with your confusion. Please come back and see me if you have any other questions about Memory Maker or any other aspect of your Walt Disney World vacation.

Wishing you a magical vacation and a pixie-dusted day!
