Hiya Ione,
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you for your question about dining plans at Walt Disney World. As someone who loves food, especially Mickey-shaped food, I’ve spent a lot of time researching the dining plans at Disney World. Pre-paying for your meals can be a huge help, depending on your family’s dining preferences.
The Disney Dining Plan includes one sit-down table service meal per night of stay for each person in your family ages 3 and up. You also get one quick-service meal and one snack/nonalcoholic drink per night. The current price of the Disney Dining Plan (which is subject to change) is $97.79 per night for each adult and $30.56 per night for each child ages 3-9. The way the dining plans work is that all of your meals are allocated like credits that you can redeem the way you want. Some meals (signature dining, dinner shows, and select character dining) require two table service meal credits.
So Ione, let’s run through an example talking just about table service meals which can be breakfasts, lunches, and/or dinners. Let’s say you have a four-night stay at one of the resort hotels. With the Disney Dining Plan, you would get a total of four table service meal credits for your trip. You can use your meal credits for any meal you choose where the dining plan is accepted, including character dining. If you wanted to dine at the iconic
Cinderella’s Royal Table, you would need to redeem two of those meal credits for that single meal. This would leave you with two remaining table service credits to use for the rest of your trip for two sit-down meals.
I hope this was helpful, Ione. I’m happy to provide any additional clarity that you might need to decide if the Disney Dining Plan is right for you, so please come back and see
me if you need anything else. Before I let you go, don’t forget that you will also receive a Resort-Refillable Drink Mug for each person with a dining plan. If you drink soda like my family, this can be a real money-saving aspect.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
