My family is going to disney in 11 days. I wanted to know if the coin pressing machines are still there. I wanted to take enough quarters and shiny pennies for both if my grandkids

Hello Kathleen! So glad you could join us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I'd really love to give you my two cents on Coin Press Machines at the Walt Disney World Resort.  First, I'm really excited that you want to cash in on this unique and fun souvenir experience.  Did you know that pennies made in 1983 and later are actually mostly zinc coated in copper? For the best pressed pennies, I suggest pulling out that old magnifying glass and checking the mint dates on your pennies.  Those minted in 1982 or before will give you the best product, as they are 95% copper.  I'd suggest giving them a little shine up before you depart to make them really sparkle.  Bring extra quarters and a few dimes too, as there are also some machines that make pressed coins with those as well.

If you really want to have a grand time using these Coin Press Machines, Disney has already done the leg work for you! Check out this interactive map to check out where to turn your smackeroos into souvenirs.  This map is also available in the My Disney Experience App on your smartphone.

    Best Wishes,
    Amy S.
