My family is going to Disney in just 2 days!! We were told by our local base when we purchased tickets that it is cheaper to wait and buy Memory Maker with the military discount once we arrive at WDW. That being said, where do we go to purchase this?

    Welcome to planDisney, Alexis!

I am so excited for your family!  Soon you will be right in the middle of all the magic of the 50th Aniversary Celebration at Walt Disney World Resort.  From all of us here at planDisney, I would like to extend our sincere appreciation for your family's service.  I am so glad that Walt Disney World Resort provides the Military Salute special offers for military families.

Active and retired members of the US Military are eligible to participate in the Military Salute offers, including Memory Maker at a special discount.  Memory Maker allows Guests to download all their Disney PhotoPass photos, including on-ride attraction photos, character greeting photos, and photos captured with Disney PhotoPass photographers throughout the parks and resorts.  You can even use the My Disney Experience mobile app to help you find Disney PhotoPass locations.  Use the location button at the bottom of the home screen, and then where you see "Wait Times" at the top, use the drop-down menu to select "PhotoPass".  Stop as often as you like to capture those magical vacation memories!

Depending on the type of tickets you purchased on base, you may need to activate them in person by providing valid military identification at a theme park ticket window or the Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs.  You can purchase your Military Salute Memory Maker at the time you activate your tickets.  If your tickets are already activated and ready to go, don't worry about stopping to purchase Memory Maker before visiting the theme parks.  My panelist pal Kristen recommends stopping at a Guest Relations location in the theme parks anytime during your visit to purchase your Memory Maker.  She finds there will usually be a shorter wait there, especially if you stop by later in the day.  You can still capture as many photos as you like prior to making your purchase.  As long as the photos in your account haven't expired (currently 45 days after the date on which they were captured), they will all be included with your Memory Maker.  Once you have activated your Memory Maker by downloading your first photo, you will then have 30 days in which to capture additional photos.

I hope that helps!  Please let us know if you have any additional questions.  Have a wonderful vacation!
